Love stories are often filled with twists and turns, unexpected moments, and unforgettable adventures. Andie and Zane's adventure engagement session in Kansas City is a perfect example of just that – a two-day escapade filled with laughter, romance, and a touch of unexpected rain. A + Z live for the thrill of an adventure, and their sessions were nothing short of it!
Adventure sessions have become some of my favorite because we have ample time to create jaw dropping photos and document some of your favorite places, that we aren't limited to because of time!
Day One: The Java Garage and Loose Park Rose Garden
The first day of Andie and Zane's engagement adventure began at The Java Garage in the vibrant West End of Kansas City. The cozy atmosphere of the coffee shop provided the perfect location for capturing their love in its purest form. Surrounded by the aroma of freshly brewed coffee and the chatter of fellow patrons, Andie and Zane shared tender moments, lost in each other's eyes, or buzzing from caffeine. They have been to Java Garage a handful of times, and it's one of their favorite places in KC.
After The Java Garage, A + Z ventured to the picturesque Loose Park rose garden that evening, a romantic oasis nestled within the heart of the city. As they ventured holding hands amidst the blooming roses, Mother Nature had a surprise in store for them as dark clouds gathered overhead. While it started to sprinkle, we thought the opportunity to get soaked in champagne was calling our names! They brought Zane's parent's wine glasses from their wedding, that were engraved with their newly shared last name that Andie will receive in June!
Midway through the session, the skies let loose, drenching Andie and Zane in a sudden downpour. Instead of letting the rain dampen their spirits, they embraced the moment, channeling the passion and romance of Noah and Allie from "The Notebook." With laughter echoing through the raindrops, they reenacted iconic scenes from the beloved film, creating memories that would last a lifetime.
As we were all drying off, Andie said, "I love the rain," followed by "and I love Andie," from Zane. It was a moment that you can't make up, and why Andie and Zane are truly meant for one another. They thrive on adventure and one another.
Day Two: Urban inspired session at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art
Undeterred by the previous day's rain, Andie and Zane eagerly embraced the second day of their engagement adventure. This time, they sought the characteristic filled Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art for their urban-style photoshoot.
Against the backdrop of the museum's striking architecture and expansive grounds, Andie and Zane's love story unfolded in a symphony of elegance and grace. From sweeping staircases to the larger than life shuttlecocks in the lawn, we had a hay day running around like it was a playground built for A + Z.
As the midday sun cast its vibrant glow over the museum grounds, Andie and Zane shared intimate moments that spoke volumes of their deep connection and unwavering love.
Reflecting on their whirlwind two-day adventure, Andie and Zane realized that their engagement journey was more than just a series of photoshoots – it was a testament to their love, resilience, and shared sense of adventure. From the unexpected rainstorm to the character of the museum, every moment was a chapter in their love story, a story that would continue to unfold for years to come.
In the heart of Kansas City, amidst the hustle and bustle of everyday life, Andie and Zane found magic in the simplest of moments – a shared glance, a tender touch, a love that knew no bounds.
